In case nobody's noticed, I've gone and deleted my old fanfiction; removed it from the site. I was thinking about doing this for some time, partially because a lot of that stuff didn't really measure up to what I'm currently capable of, but mostly because I don't want my only significant contribution to the site to be fanfiction. Fanfiction is nice and all, because it's great practice for young writers trying to figure out what kind of stories they like telling, what their "author's voice," is, or how they tell the story, and etc.

But in the end, it's all based off of someone else's idea. One could argue that there is no true originality, because all the conflicts, all the character types have just about already made their debut: every character we read about, and every book we read reminds us of a few before it. Nonetheless, I wanted to break away from the fanfiction genre, even though my old work did provide a nice contrast to what I'm now capable of.

This will also mark my transition into more well-developed work, and I do promise that updates are coming. I've been in a bit of a slump for the past 2 months, and I also have a lot of work coming in from AP Lit. While I'm trying to bring up my grade, I will also be brainstorming. Updates are still on the way!
